Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho Ready and Waiting for New Blues Contract

Chelsea’s manager claims he would sign a new deal ‘tomorrow’, if it were to be offered.

Jose Mourinho has said that he would sign a new deal at Chelsea immediately, and is waiting to be offered a new contract at the club.

“I (would) sign tomorrow,” Mourinho is quoted as saying by Sky Sports. “That’s what I want. I want to stay in Chelsea and English football… unfortunately Chelsea’s not my club. I depend on the club and I depend on the results.”

This is the position Mourinho has taken since his arrival back at Chelsea. He wants to stay indefinitely, but is aware that at any moment results could turn against him, and he could be sacked. It seems impossible now, but then again it also seemed impossible in 2007.

This time around though, Mourinho is a less explosive character. He has been to Inter Milan and Real Madrid in the interim and won a huge amount. Now he is back at a club which has the Champions League they were desperate for. Now both club and manager are older and more mature, and more ready to embark on a long term period of building.

Still, one never knows with Mourinho and Abramovich. Both have put their differences aside and had a reconciliation, but both are single-minded individuals, and another disagreement always seems to be just around the corner. While Jose is telling the truth that he want to stay at Chelsea indefinitely, he is never in doubt that his situation could change at any moment.
