Promising youngster eager to play more.
Manchester United youngster Adnan Januzaj is keen to be playing more first-team football, according to his agent Dirk de Vries, the Daily Mail reports.
The Belgian attacking midfielder was introduced into the first-team setup at Old Trafford last season under David Moyes, and looked like one of the most exciting young talents in Europe with some of his displays for the club.
However, Januzaj has become increasingly on the fringes of the first-team this season, with new manager Louis van Gaal bringing in big names such as Angel Di Maria to compete with the 19-year-old for a starting place.
This has seen Januzaj linked with a move away from Old Trafford on more than one occasion, and while his agent has ruled out the prospect of the player leaving the club anytime soon, he admits his client is keen to play more regularly.
“Just like anyone else he wants to play but he will wait for his opportunity. He is a super professional and he is still motivated,” he said.
“We have to wait until van Gaal gives him a chance. But we cannot look into the Dutchman’s head and know what he thinks.”
The scout that discovered Januzaj, Alex Vervecken, added that van Gaal is under pressure to play his bigger names after spending so much money on them.
“He will get his chance,” he said. “Even if he didn’t play for a year, he will stay. Maybe, the problem is that United have started winning games now and Van Gaal focuses on his new guys — Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao. They have to play.”
Januzaj made 35 appearances for the Red Devils last season, scoring four goals in all competitions, though he has only played four games so far this term without making a single start for the club in the Premier League.
