Kenny Dalglish, arguably Liverpool’s greatest ever player, has claimed that the Reds will miss Luis Suarez as much as Barcelona would miss Lionel Messi, reports the Daily Mail.

Uruguayan phenomenon Suarez won the Premier League Player of the Year award in 2013/14, bagging 31 goals in the process, but left to join Barcelona for £75m in the summer.

A lengthy ban has stopped Suarez from making his proper debut yet, but Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool outfit have badly missed their talisman, losing top flight fixtures to Man City, Aston Villa and West Ham already.

“How would Barcelona fans feel if Lionel Messi left, for example,”‘ Dalglish asked BarcaTV.

“It was a huge disappointment for Liverpool fans, but obviously life must go on. I believe every fan would to see him love to return to Liverpool one day.

“He scored 31 goals and missed 6 games, but he also had an awful lot of assists. More than 50 percent of Liverpool’s goals, you’ll love it when you see him.

“They were a little bit disappointed but he left with the best wishes of everyone.”

Dalglish was in charge of Liverpool when Suarez was accused and banned for racially abusing Manchester United defender. The former Scottish forward heavily backed Suarez, and came under intense criticism for doing so.

It seems that despite the 27-year-old’s mammoth transfer, Dalglish has remained as loyal as ever.
