Spurs attacker to commit future to club.
Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a welcome boost as Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen looks set to commit his future to the club by signing a new contract, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 22-year-old has been a big hit at White Hart Lane since his move to Spurs from Ajax last summer in an £11m deal, becoming one of the most important players in the team.
Long regarded as an outstanding prospect in European football, Eriksen is now showing he can perform on the big stage of the Premier League, and has been in superb form under new manager Mauricio Pochettino this season.
The Danish international recently scored a winning goal against Southampton at White Hart Lane and also struck his side’s equaliser in this weekend’s defeat to Manchester City, and the club are now keen to open talks to get him to extend his stay in north London.
Having been linked with top clubs in the past, it would be no surprise if several giants of European football showed an interest in Eriksen if he continued to perform at this level without signing a new deal.
Talks are expected to take place before the new year.
