Jose Mourinho has been pursuing German battler Khedira for some months and with the 27 year old continuing to refuse offers of a new deal, and with his current contract expiring in the summer, the Bernabeu side are ready to pursue a deal that would see Carlo Ancelotti reunited with his former Blues charge Ramires.

The Brazilian international is unhappy with his limited role in Chelsea’s first team set-up having been a virtual ever present in his first four seasons at the west London club and is open to a move to the Spanish capital.

Ancelotti was in charge of Chelsea when Ramires joined the club from Benfica and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is ready to sweeten such a deal by offering £10m as well as contract rebel Khedira to land the box to box Brazilian.

Ramires has started just two of Chelsea’s eight Premier League fixtures with Serbian battler Nemanja Matic now seen as the first choice combative midfield presence in Mourinho’s starting eleven.

Jose Mourinho is also ready to offload Nigeria bit-part player John Obi Mikel and loaned out Spaniard Oriol Romeu as he looks to streamline his midfield options with a host of talents plying their trade away from Stamford Bridge on temporary deals.
