The Reds are known to be fans of the young Swiss international, who was linked with a move to Anfield several times during the summer, though a deal never materialised.
However, Milan are now stepping up their interest in the winger, who has struggled for regular playing time since making the move to the Allianz Arena from FC Basel.
Juventus, Napoli and Atletico Madrid are also mentioned as possible suitors for Shaqiri, who may now be out of Liverpool’s reach.
