Allianz Arena manager lined up with shock Premier League switch.

Man City are preparing an audacious attempt to lure Spaniard Pep Guardiola away from Bayern Munich to act as a replacement for boss Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium according to the Daily Star.

Amazingly this source claims that Chilean Pellegrini could be facing the axe, this despite the fact that the former Real Madrid man led Man City to a Premier League title in his first season in charge of the club.

Apparently if Man City fail to secure a spot in the Champions League knockout stages then Pellegrini will be for the boot and then the club’s owners will look to bring in Guardiola, who is only contracted to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich until the summer of 2016.

This speculation comes hot on the heels of Guardiola’s revelation that he would love to manage Man United once he quits Germany, though clearly Louis van Gaal is only just getting warm in the Old Trafford hot-seat and as such that ‘dream’ move may not be a realistic one.

Guardiola enjoyed four spectacularly successful seasons in charge of Barcelona before taking a year out prior to taking charge of Bayern Munich, during which he guided the Catalan club to a host of honours including three La Liga crowns and two Champions League titles.
