Milan can’t afford a move for the German international.

Premier League trio Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea appear to have a free path to fight it out over the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, either in January or on a free transfer next summer, after Milan head honcho Adrian Galliani admitted that the Serie A club can’t afford the German international’s wages.

Khedira has so far resisted the overtures of Real to extend his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu and looks all set to leave the club, whether in a cut price January move or on a free transfer next summer when his contract reaches its conclusion.

Recent reports have suggested that Manchester United are now the favourites to secure the signing of the box-to-box midfielder as they are willing to offer him a £200,000 per week wage packet that neither Arsenal or Chelsea would match.
