Diego Costa v Sergio Aguero: Who’s better of the Premier League stars?
Mourinho told the press, “Diego Costa hasn’t trained because he’s not in condition to do so. Tomorrow he can’t play.”
The Spanish star also didn’t play against Crystal Palace at the weekend. This will worry some Chelsea fans as the Spaniard was one of their standout performers when fit. However with both Loic Remy and Didier Drogba able to come into the side, Chelsea shouldn’t be too short for options up front like they were at times last season.
Also with Maribor not being the most frightening of opponents and Chelsea having made a strong start to their group, it could be a good game for Costa to miss – with the forward now being able to concentrate on getting himself fit for the tougher games that will be coming up.
