Neves has also been fast tracked to the Portugal Under 21 side despite his young age and is seen as the most exciting player to be produced by the country since Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, something that has sparked a huge battle for his signature that now includes Juventus and Liverpool as well as the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona in Spain.

Porto will be keen to keep hold of Neves for the time being, however, as he threatens to become an important part of a young team that is impressive at the Estadio Dragao both in Portuguese domestic football and the Champions League.

Neves is a defensive midfielder, a position that requires huge intelligence and often experience, making Neves’ performances even more impressive and provoking comparisons with Barcelona star and Spain international Sergio Busquets, possibly the best player currently operating in that role in world football.
