21 year old defender Andre Wisdom has been a regular in Alan Irvine’s West Brom side this season and put in a particularly accomplished display against Man United on Monday night.

The powerful youngster can play at centre-back but it’s on the right-hand side of the defence that he has impressed this season and given the speculation about Glen Johnson’s long term future at the club it may well be the case that Rodgers elects to allow the experienced England defender to see out his contract and usher in Wisdom to his first team set-up for 2015/16.

Wisdom is a speedy performer who perhaps doesn’t look like a conventional full-back, big and burly, but is capable on the ball and is a player who is not easily flustered and could well be ‘one for the future’ who is more than capable of making an immediate impact.

Manquillo has been Rodgers’ first choice right-back this season and is on a two year loan deal from Atletico Madrid but Wisdom may well fight the Spaniard for a spot next season, with John Flanagan also on hand to add extra support.
