Celebrity Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher bizarrely declared his love for Manchester United legend Roy Keane…

Oasis star Noel Gallagher is blue through and through, and is one of the most famous Manchester City fans ever. That hasn’t stopped him from declaring his love for Manchester legend Roy Keane though, reported by the Independent.

Gallagher admitted that he wasn’t a big fan of footballer’s autobiographies, but said he had enjoyed reading snippets of Roy Keane’s book; his criticisms of Sir Alex Ferguson in particular.

“I don’t really read footballers books because they are essentially all telling the same story,” he said.

“I’ve liked reading the excerpts from Roy Keane’s book particularly him slagging of (Alex) Ferguson who might be one of the most hateful people I’ve ever come across. I’ve enjoyed that.

“I love Roy Keane. I actually liked him when he was at United but then he signed for Celtic… I’ve never met him and I wouldn’t mind meeting him and shake his hand while standing back a little bit in case he head-butted you.”

The 47-year-old even revealed that he hopes the Aston Villa assistant someday takes over at Manchester United. Although despite his admiration for the man he also hopes Keane destroys the club from the inside out.

“As a character I think he’s great, I hope one day he takes over United and runs it into the ground… turns it into a supermarket,” he added.

Manchester United had the chance to close the gap on second placed City last night at the Hawthorns, but twice had to come from behind against West Brom to eventually secure a 2-2 draw.

The Premier League champions are still five points behind Chelsea at the top of the table, but with United in such poor form it is easy for City fans to see the silver lining.
