Louis van Gaal has long been linked with an interest in bringing the 27 year old Chilean to Old Trafford and this source states that Italian sources believe such a move would become a reality.

Van Gaal has been linked with a myriad of potential midfield captures, with Roma’s Kevin Strootman and Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira known targets, but a move for Vidal may be reignited.

Vidal was recently dropped by boss Massimiliano Allegri after he was spotted out at a late night bar before arriving the following day late for training.

The South American played a pivotal role in Juventus’s three successive Serie A titles but has started just three of the club’s seven domestic fixtures thus far this term and this may lead Allegri to feel he can afford to offload the player if he feels he is a disruptive influence.

Man United could well do with a fresh injection of midfield guile, not least as Spaniards Juan Mata and Ander Herrera haven’t been all that impressive and the likes of Marouane Fellaini, Darren Fletcher and loaned out England man Tom Cleverley may all be playing for their futures at the club.
