Remy and Costa will both miss out when the Blues face United this weekend.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho faces a decision between ageing striker Didier Drogba, youngster Dominic Solanke and winger Andre Schurrle when deciding on his forward for the clash against Manchester United this weekend, report the Mirror, after French striker Loic Remy was confirmed to be out of the match after scan results on an injury picked up in scoring against Maribor in the Champions League this week.

Regular striker and top goalscorer Diego Costa has already been ruled out of the game by Jose Mourinho as he recovers from a number of issues, including a hamstring complaint and also a mystery illness that saw him admitted to hospital this week, leaving Mourinho with a real headache when it comes to selecting his team for the trip to Old Trafford.

Remy signed from local rivals Queens Park Rangers in the final days of the summer transfer window once Mourinho had sanctioned the departure of flop striker Fernando Torres to AC Milan on a two-year loan deal and has been seen as the man to step into Costa’s shoes when the Spaniard was struggling with his regular injuries, but that plan has been derailed by his knock against Maribor and could well lead to Drogba once again leading the lines for a Chelsea team at Old Trafford.
