Manager Arsene Wenger hinted that the winger is not ready for a return to first team action at his press conference, but apparently changed his mind after the subsequent training session.

The 25-year-old has now travelled with the rest of the squad to the Stadium of Light and will now be named in the squad, though whether he gets any game time remains to be seen.

Walcott has only played 45 minutes of an under-21 game since his return to fitness and therefore Wenger is unlikely to risk him from the start.
