The 27 year old is keen to leave Barcelona having become something of a bit-part player in recent weeks though it’s not instantly obvious as to where he would fit into Arsene Wenger’s first team set-up.

Having brought in Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez over the summer and handed injured forward Olivier Giroud a new contract one wonders where Wenger would look to use Pedro, especially when you consider the presence of Theo Walcott, Lukas Podolski, Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil in his Gunners squad.

The 27 year old has stared five of Barcelona’s nine La Liga fixtures and was left out of Luis Enrique’s XI for their El Clasico defeat to Real Madrid and with Luis Suarez now being available following his lengthy ban there is every chance Pedro’s chances will become all the more limited.

It will cost around £25m to land Pedro but one imagines Arsenal would not make an offer for the experienced Tenerife born forward until they sold one or two of their current striking weapons.
