Arsenal’s Theo Walcott set to start from the bench against Sunderland this weekend.
The Black Cats are of course looking to bounce back themselves after an humiliating 8-0 defeat at the hands of Southampton and here is how CaughtOffside thinks the Gunners will lineup.
GK – Wojciech Szczesny
Having been suspended for the midweek Champions League victory over Anderlecht the usual No.1 will come back to replace Damian Martinez between the sticks.
RB – Calum Chambers
Mathieu Debuchy is out for some time and Hector Bellerin is inexperienced at this level so it will be another chance for Chambers to try and impress at right-back.
CB – Per Mertesacker
With his usual central defensive partner Laurent Koscielny missing with an Achilles injury the German will need to step up and be the assured presence at the back.
CB – Nacho Monreal
No Koscielny means this usual left-back will be given another opportunity as a centre-back and manager Arsene Wenger will be wanting to see some improved form from the Spaniard.
LB – Kieran Gibbs
With Monreal in the middle the left side of defence falls to this England international, who should be in good spirits after scoring a rare goal against Anderlecht on Wednesday.
