Manchester United will win Premier League title under Louis van Gaal insists Cristiano Ronaldo.

This isn’t the first time the proposal has been raised, with manager Louis van Gaal confirming earlier in the year that it was something that was being considered by the club.

Having failed to qualify for the Champions League this term the Red Devils have missed out on the financial benefits of being in the competition and are looking for ways to try and compensate that loss.

Van Gaal is also keen for his players to test themselves against top European opposition and with Milan being in a similar situation to United they could be the ideal candidates.

The Serie A side also failed to qualify for the Champions League last campaign and are therefore being tapped up for this one off friendly midway through 2014/15 – which will be held in the Middle East.

Although they had hoped to do it sooner it will not be possible to hold the event until at least January as UEFA have banned any friendlies being held at the same time as competitive matches in Europe.

The 13-time Premier League champions are keen to hold it in the Middle East to try and explore a foreign market having seen 100,000 fans turning up to see them play Real Madrid in Michigan, USA in pre-season.
