The United States national team skipper is ready to make a loan move to the English top tier during the MLS close season and the 31 year old’s availability is sure to garner a great deal of interest.

Dempsey could be free for two months and national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann has given his backing for the short-term move, citing the need for the experienced attacker to ‘remain sharp’.

Dempsey left Tottenham for the Seattle Sounders in August 2013 before returning to former club Fulham for a loan spell and appears likely to make a similar move in a matter of weeks.

One can see why Paul Lambert and Harry Redknapp would be keen to lure Dempsey to help their respective causes.

The Texan has made 275 appearances in English football and has netted 72 goals in the process.
