Ajax are readying themselves to pounce on Tommy Oar when he comes out of contract at the end of the season, according to reports.

Australia attacker Tommy Oar is a target for Ducth giants Ajax, according to reports.

According to RTV Utrecht, the 22-year-old is being lined up as a replacement for Dane Lasse Schone who is expected to leave the 33-time Eredivisie champions for either AC Milan or Besiktas.

The Aussie is out of contract at the end of the season and it is believed Ajax director Marc Overmars is ready to pounce of the versatile player.

Oar signed for Utrecht from A-League side Brisbane Roar in 2010 and has made 89 appearances for the club, netting four goals.

The youngster has notched up 21 caps with the Socceroos and featured prominently in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
