The Belgian’s form has been something of a concern for Brendan Rodgers this season, with a number of mistakes being made by the former Sunderland keeper.

Reports have suggested that Liverpool were looking to bring in free agent and ex-Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes, but the two parties couldn’t come to an arrangement and a deal never materialised.

Bosnich believes that Mignolet needs to improve if he is to warrant being the first choice goalkeeper for a team like Liverpool; without competition this is unlikely to happen however.

“I think it is important for Liverpool [to sign another goalkeeper]. I don’t think he is doing ridiculously bad but for a top, top goalkeeper he has to do better and I think that would push him to a better level,” Bosnich told talkSPORT.

Currently the only competition Mignolet has is Brad Jones, who is not deemed to be of the quality required to be a Premier League goalkeeper.

With Liverpool keeping just two clean sheets so far this season there is no question that Mignolet needs to improve, but will he do so or does he need to be replaced?
