Ryan Giggs was sent to keep an eye on this promising young star ahead of a possible transfer to Manchester United…
Manchester United sent assistant manager Ryan Giggs to personally scout Trabzonspor forward Abdul Majeed Waris, according to Turkish publication Milliyet.
The United legend was at the Turkish side’s Europa League clash with Lokeren on Thursday keeping tabs on the Ghana international, with the 22-year-old impressing since his move to the Super Lig.
He only just moved to the club this summer for a reported €6m, and considering his fantastic start to the season they are believed to be fully committed to keeping hold of him.
If a Premier League club of United’s stature came in for him however, it may be hard for Trabzonspor to turn down a sizable offer.
Waris has been prolific throughout his career, finishing as the top scorer in the Swedish league in 2012. The top flight of English football is quite a step up however, and he may not be ready to make that jump just yet.
