Portuguese winger still has chance to further Old Trafford career.

Manchester United may have loaned winger Nani out to former club Sporting Lisbon but that has by no means put an end to his career there as Louis Van Gaal keeps a close watch on his performances with the view to bringing him back next summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

He is being closely watched by Old Trafford scouts. And United defender Marcos Rojo, formerly of Sporting, revealed: “The people here at Manchester United are always asking me about Nani.

“They ask if he scores goals, whether he’s playing regularly and playing well in that position. They are very attentive to the work of Nani.”

United brought the Portugal international to the club in a £25.5m deal back in 2007, but after a bright start his form gradually fizzled out and he found regular playing time harder to come by.

However, after bagging five goals in his first ten games for Sporting he could yet be given a second chance to resurrect his career with the former Premier League champions.
