Napoli chasing the Italian forward.
Liverpool may be able to get flop striker Mario Balotelli off their books this January, with the Metro reporting that Serie A side Napoli, managed by former Reds boss Rafael Benitez, are ready to open talks over a potential deal to bring Balotelli back to Serie A.

The Reds would, however, have to accept a financial hit on the Balotelli deal, with Napoli reportedly only willing to pay £10 million of the £16m that they initially paid to AC Milan this summer to bring the Italian international back to the Premier League, where he had previously had a moderately successful spell with Manchester City.
Napoli’s pursuit of Balotelli could be a precursor to Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain leaving the San Paolo, with the former Real Madrid star reportedly unsettled in Serie A after his side were knocked out of the Champions League by La Liga side Athletic Bilbao before they had even reached the group stages.
Liverpool are one of a number of clubs to have been linked with a move for the prolific Higuain, but there is no suggestion that they could look to do some sort of part-exchange deal with Balotelli used as a makeweight in a move for Higuain.
