Ashley Cole’s former WAG Cheryl Fernandez-Versini was furious when she was referred to as Cheryl Cole ahead of an X Factor results show, according to the Daily Mail.

The singer and reality show judge lost it with warm-up host Ian Royce for his mistake, calling him ignorant and saying, “it’s not hard to pronounce my name phonetically.”
Royce almost instantaneously began receiving a tirade of abuse on twitter from Mrs Fernandez-Versini’s fans, and was forced to repeatedly apologise for his, in all honesty, understandable mistake.
The X Factor judge dropped the name Cole after secretly marrying Frenchman Jean-Bernard Fernandez Versini a few months ago.
Former Chelsea star is currently plying his trade at Roma in Serie A, with Cole and Fernandez-Versini splitting after an alleged series of infidelities on Cole’s part.
Ex-singer Sinitta revealed that the footballer’s surname is banned in the X Factor studios.
“Do not use C-word in this building, the four letter C-word, Cole,” she said.
Royce may have been grateful for that memo before this incident. Nevertheless it is not a mistake he is likely repeat.
