Saints eye swoop for Europa League hotshot Harry Kane.

Southampton don’t appear to be resting on their laurels after a flying start to the Premier League season that currently sees them sat in second place, with the Sun reporting that the Saints are lining up a £10 million move for in form Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane in the January transfer window.

Kane has rarely been given the opportunity to shine in the Premier League this season, despite the disappointing displays of senior forward Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado, but the England Under 21 international has been in lethal form in the Europa League, scoring a hat-trick in last week’s 5-1 group stage victory over Greek Super League outfit Asteras Tripolis.

Kane also has Europa League goals against the likes of Besiktas and AEL Limassol this season, but the former Leyton Orient and Leicester City loanee doesn’t seem able to break into Mauricio Pochettino’s first team at White Hart Lane and could be tempted to move on in search of regular Premier League football as a result.

Southampton have seen former Feyenoord striker Graziano Pelle make the transition to Premier League football with ease this season, scoring the goals for Ronald Koeman’s side, but with Shane Long failing to live up to expectations after signing from Hull, another centre forward could well be a priority for the club in January.
