£25m Liverpool Flop Promises Best Is Yet To Come

Adam Lallana’s performances have not been the most disappointing part of this season for Liverpool fans, but they could certainly be a lot better.

Adam Lallana has hit back at his critics, claiming that the best is yet to come from him.

Lallana, signed for a massive £25m from Southampton in the summer, has so far failed to live up to his fee. While he has shown flashes of the talent that earned him his big move, he hasn’t been able to perform consistently for the Reds.

The Englishman has scored once, and not made a single assist at his new club, but he insists that it’s just a matter of time before he finds his form again.

“There’s still more to come. I feel it’s going to be a gradual process. There are lots of games coming, so hopefully my best form is not too far away,” he told Liverpool’s official website.

The fact that two of the three qualities that the website praise are his “energy” and his “work-rate” shows that, while he’s been trying his best, the England international just hasn’t been getting the results he’s looking for.

This is true of most of the Liverpool side, who have looked out-of-sorts this season.

Lallana’s Southampton club-mate Dejan Lovren also joined Liverpool in the summer for over £20m, and has struggled even more.

Not only has he not solved Liverpool’s defensive problems, they are now conceding even more goals than they were last year.
