The former Real Madrid star moved to Old Trafford this summer for a Premier League record £59.7m fee and has really hit the ground running since his arrival.

Despite offers from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City on the table the Argentine insists there was no chance of him ending up anywhere other than United.

The desire that Louis van Gaal and the Red Devils showed to sign him left di Maria with no doubts about where he wanted to play, so much so in fact that he didn’t even speak to another club.

“No, there was never any contact anywhere else,” the 26-year-old was quoted by the Daily Express.

“United were the club who showed real eagerness to sign me. They came with all the paperwork, signed and ready. And as soon as I heard of their interest, there was no question of me going anywhere else.

“I felt from the word go that I was going somewhere where I would be really loved. I’m not saying I wasn’t loved in Madrid, but the kind of interest United showed is hard to turn down.”

His transfer came as somewhat of a shock, as after four years in the Spanish capital he had become an integral part of Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

The pacey midfielder was a huge part of their Champions League winning season and really seems to be hitting his prime at the moment.

Di Maria already has three goals and four assists this season since making the switch to the Premier League and has been a shining light in a somewhat erratic United side this campaign.
