Alcacer’s current deal runs until the end of next season, and as a highly sought after player at the moment La Liga side would do well to tie him down to a long term contract.

“Both parties have the same desire,” the 21-year-old was quoted by Goal.

“Valencia want to [extend the deal] and so do I and my family.

“But there is no rush and I am very clear in my mind.”

The youngster has been in fine form for the international team, scoring three goals in his first four games for Spain.

Alcacer has also found the back of the net on four occasions in the Spaniash top tier this season having made nine appearances.

The forward  had a superb campaign in 2013/14, scoring 14 goals in 37 appearances.

Most of his strikes came in European competition, scoring eight goals in 11 appearances and attracting attention from a number of Premier League clubs.
