The north London side will look to bring in the former Barcelona supremo at the end of next season, even though Wenger is contracted to the club until 2017, amid growing speculation as to who Arsenal would turn to once the French manager’s time at the Emirates Stadium comes to an inevitable close.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti and his assistant Paul Clement have both been linked with the Arsenal post in recent months but seemingly Guardiola leads the pack though one wonders if the Allianz Arena manager would have any interest in such a move,

Guardiola helped Bayern Munich to a Bundesliga title in record quick time in his debut season in Bavaria and would appear to have no reason to consider leaving the German giants any time soon.

A move to bring in a replacement would apparently lead to Wenger being moved upstairs into a directorial role.

Wenger took charge of Arsenal in 1996 and has experienced a great deal of success though the lack of any major honours for the best part of a decade may well hasten a move to bring in a new manager to take the helnm.
