Higuain Liverpool – Reds eye Serie A striker
The Reds only brought the Italian international forward to Anfield from AC Milan this summer in a £16m deal, but are thought to be considering his departure already after a nightmare start to life on Merseyside.
The 24-year-old has only scored two goals for the club since he joined, and his performances have been far from his best in some lazy and unconvincing displays for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
It may now be that Napoli will make a tempting bid to Liverpool to take the troubled striker off their hands, which the Reds may have to consider as they look to rebuild in attack.
It is not yet clear how much the Serie A outfit will be ready to offer, but it is said to be an improvement on their opening bid of £10m that was reported in the last week or so.
Rafael Benitez is a big fan of the former Manchester City player, and wants him to come in and partner Gonzalo Higuain in a new-look strike force.
