Loan players are becoming increasingly prominent in the modern game, with the vast majority of squads in the Premier League for the 2014/15 season including at least one player who has been temporarily borrowed from another club.
Whilst not all our successful, some of really hit the mark during the early stages of the season, with loan players have won man-of-the-match awards for Stoke City and West Ham United – here are the eight most impressive Premier League loanees so far:
Ryan Bertrand (Chelsea to Southampton)
Bertrand has a Champions League winners’ medal to his name – so it is perhaps no surprise that he has slotted perfectly into the Southampton defence, but the former Gillingham youngster’s displays at Aston Villa last season did not suggest such a smooth transition to life at St. Mary’s.
