Gerard Pique’s future at Barcelona is in serious jeopardy after the defender added another charge to his rap sheet.
Pique’s awful performance in the Clasico was just the latest in a string of bad games, which have had fans calling for the defender’s head.
In Wednesday’s Supercopa de Catalunya, Luis Enrique took the defender off at half time, probably just to give him a rest, but also to try out a team without the former Manchester United man in.
Once on the bench, Pique, despite knowing that his behaviour was being closely scrutinised by the Spanish media, spent the whole second half of the game distracted by his phone, barely glancing up until the penalty shootout.
