Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp was disappointed that referee Mike Jones opted to award a penalty to Chelsea winger Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

With QPR and Chelsea level at 1-1 after 75 minutes, Hazard went down under a strong challenge from Hoops striker Eduardo Vargas.

Redknapp is of the opinion that Vargas was simply stronger than Hazard, who went to ground, before converting the resultant spot-kick.

He told BBC Sport: “I thought it was a harsh penalty that won it for Chelsea.

“It was a shoulder to shoulder charge and our guy was a bit stronger than the Chelsea guy, who went over.

“We played well against Liverpool and we’ve played well against Chelsea. But to get no points from the two games is obviously disappointing.

“However, there’s lots of positives. We showed a great attitude and I think we have got enough to stay in this division.”
