According to Fichajes.net, the Uruguayan goal-getter remains a priority target for Arsenal in particular, with Arsene Wenger keen to bring in more competition upfront for Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud.

Wenger’s side have been somewhat over-reliant on the fine form of summer signing Alexis Sanchez so far this season, with the Chilean in superb form at the moment in front of goal.

Still, Welbeck has not been at his best recently with just one goal in his last five games, and Cavani’s situation at PSG means the club are still monitoring his situation ahead of a possible £35m bid.

The 27-year-old, who was one of the most in-demand centre-forwards in Europe after his highly impressive spell in Serie A with Napoli, has not been at his best since moving to the French capital, but has still managed eight goals this season despite playing in an unfamiliar wide-forward role.

Cavani has insisted he is not looking to quit the Parc des Princes, but Arsenal and United still hope to lure him away.
