Fellaini Moyes: Former Manchester United boss David Moyes says he is being proved right about Marouane Fellaini.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Valencia and has been lighting up La Liga so far this season. Chelsea and Manchester United were both thought to be interested in the Portuguese starlet over the summer, but third-party ownership issues are thought to have complicated the transfer.

United manager Louis van Gaal has already been criticised for bringing in too many attack-minded players when defence is the real issue at the Premier League club at the moment. Gomes certainly wouldn’t do much to curb these criticisms, with the Red Devils already boasting a number of talented attacking midfielders.

Former Chelsea man Juan Mata has been linked with a switch to La Liga on a number of occasions, with clubs like Atletico Madrid thought to be interested. If the Spaniard were to depart it may leave a vacant spot for Gomes, but with the likes of Angel di Maria and the emerging talent of Adnan Januzaj he may get more regular football staying where he is.
