Dutch star set to disappoint Manchester United and Liverpool with Eredivisie stay…

Manchester United and Liverpool could be set to miss out on Dutch sensation Daley Sinkgraven after the youngster revealed he wants to stay in the Netherlands, reports the Daily Star.

The 19-year-old is thought of very highly in the Eredivisie and is considered one of the League’s brightest prospects.

Louis van Gaal and Brendan Rodgers are both believed to be chasing the teenage defender, but it seems they will be left disappointed after Sinkgraven’s latest comments.

“I see it is a compliment that such big clubs are interested,” Sinkgraven said.

“I would first prefer to play at the top of the Netherlands. I think it is too soon to move to a foreign country. Ajax would be a nice step.”

The SC Heerenveen starlet has also attracted interest from Barcelona, PSV Eindhoven, and Ajax, and his comments clearly suggest he would prefer a switch to one of the Dutch clubs over a move abroad.

Even if the player has the talent to make the step up to a team like Manchester United, he may not have the mentality or the maturity just yet to blossom in a foreign country.

Heerenveen manager Dwight Lodeweges can certainly see the potential he possesses, but believes he needs longer with his current club to continue his development.

“Please let him stay with us for a few years,” Lodeweges said.

“Even if he is sold, we will demand a top price for him. Daley has incredible talent.”
