The former Liverpool midfielder was speaking after the Red Devils lost 1-0 to Manchester City. They ended the game with Antonio Valencia, Michael Carrick, Paddy McNair, and Luke Shaw playing at the back.

“Look at the back four they ended up with, Valencia, McNair, Carrick and Shaw. That’s the back four for Manchester United. That’s the worst back four you’ll ever see!” said Redknapp.

McNair made the mistake that led to the Citizens’ winner after coming on for the injured Marcos Rojo. This back line may have to play again due to injuries to Phil Jones, Jonny Evans, and Rojo, as well as Chris Smalling’s suspension.

Manchester have made their worst start to a season since 1986, and are hoping that they will be able to get their campaign back on track in their next game against Crystal Palace before they come up against Arsenal in a couple of weeks.
