Alex Brosque could return in time face Melbourne Victory in round six, according to Arnold.

Sydney FC manager Graham Arnold says club captain Alex Brosque is a good chance to face Melbourne Victory in two weeks’ time despite being helped from the field on Sunday with an ankle injury during the Sky Blues’ 2-0 win over Central Coast.

Brosque was carried from the field during Sunday’s at Allianz Stadium game and looked in considerable discomfort.

“He’s rolled his ankle,” Arnold said.

“He said he’s done it before and you can normally get over it pretty quick.

“We’ve got a short turnaround this week so he might be struggling for that one but he will hopefully be back for the Victory game.

Despite the likely loss of Brosque, Arnold was confident his side were capable of defeating Adelaide on Friday night.

“They (Adelaide) are in good form, are a tough team to play at Coopers Stadium, it’s a beautiful pitch and will be a good crowd.

“We’ll recover well, work on some tactics this week and be ready for them. I’m really confident we can do well against them.”
