City keen to fend off competition for talented playmaker.
Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly ready to offer in-demand Bundesliga playmaker Marco Reus a whopping £13m a season in order to spurn advances elsewhere and make his way to the Etihad instead, according to German newspaper BILD.
After Dortmund’s exceptionally poor start to the Bundesliga season, it now looks inevitable that Reus will be leaving the club unless something miraculous happens in the Champions League.
However, there is a slew of interest in his services from elsewhere, including Bayern Munich, who have already liberated the club of two of their best players in recent years.
But City will make him an astronomical offer of £13m-per-season in order to tempt him to the Premier League and out of the hands of their Champions League rivals.
However, joining City and Bayern Munich in their interest is Barcelona, which is believed to be the 25 year old’s favoured destination.
