Newcastle United midfielder Jonas Gutierrez has been discharged from hospital after successfully beating testicular cancer, according to the Daily Mail.

Gutierrez found out he had cancer last year after tests were run following a collision with the then Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna. The 31-year-old claimed he felt “a lot of pain that wouldn’t go away”.
The Argentine didn’t reveal he was being treated until September, thanking his friends and family for all the support he had received throughout his battle with the disease.
He showed incredible fight and willpower during the ordeal, and even ran the 26.2 mile Buenos Aires Marathon in October to raise money and awareness for the Foundation for Research, Teaching, and Cancer Prevention society.
He was finally given the all clear on Monday when he was discharged, and took to twitter to thank his followers and let them know he had recovered.
