City eye exciting signing to improve performances.
Manchester City could be set to rival a host of top clubs for the exciting signing of Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus, according to German source Bild.
The 25-year-old is being widely tipped to leave Dortmund next summer as a release clause of around £20m is expected to come into effect, which has also seen him attract strong interest from the likes of Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
City are in a worrying run of form at the moment, with the reigning Premier League champions recently losing games to West Ham United, Newcastle United and CSKA Moscow to put their hopes of silverware in major doubt for this season.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side are six points behind current league leaders Chelsea, while defeat to Newcastle put them out of the Capital One Cup, which they also won last season.
Meanwhile, yesterday’s loss at home to CSKA Moscow means they are likely to exit the Champions League at the group stages once again, continuing their poor record in this competition in recent years.
Reus would no doubt make a top signing for the Etihad Stadium club, who may be in need of major changes as their current squad look to be stalling after their fine achievements last season.
