Ivorian striker heading for a new contract at the Liberty Stadium.

Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony is set to snub interest from the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur to pen a new deal with the South Wales club, report the Daily Star, after the Ivorian really hit form in recent weeks following a slow start to the season.

Bony was one of the Premier League’s most prolific centre forwards last season after Swansea broke their transfer record to sign him from Eredivisie outfit Vitesse Arnhem and was linked with a host of bigger clubs this Summer, but the Swans were able to repel interest then and now look set to tie their biggest asset down to a long term deal as they look to continue establishing themselves in the top flight of English football.

He didn’t score during the opening weeks of this season for the Swans and picked up a ridiculous red card for two yellows in defeat to Southampton, but since then Bony has been in fine form for Garry Monk’s side and has been a key part of their rise to the upper echelons of the Premier League table.

If he does sign a new deal at the Liberty Stadium then it will be an indication of just how much Swansea have grown as a club since earning promotion to the Premier League under Brendan Rodgers, with barely a decade having passed since they only stayed in the Football League on the final day of the season courtesy of a win over Hull City.
