Reds joined by Everton and Tottenham in pursuit of Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph
In a blow for manager Paul Lambert the England international has told the Scot he has no intention of signing a new contract at Villa Park, reports the Telegraph.
Delph is not in the final year of his current deal with the Birmingham side and despite being offered a four-year extension with wages of around £50,000-a-week, the 24-year-old has made it clear to Lambert he wants to leave.
This has seen both Merseyside clubs and Spurs show interest as the midfield ace will be one of the most sought after free agents next summer.
