Melbourne City Captain Patrick Kisnorbo Says David Villa Was ‘A Bit’ Of A Distraction

Kisnorbo admitted the media attention surrounding Villa was a slight distraction.

Melbourne City captain Patrick Kisnorbo concedes the media circus surrounding star Spanish import David Villa may have been a distraction during the opening few rounds of the A-League season.

Villa made headlines across the world after agreeing to what was originally a ten-game guest stint with City.

However the former Barcelona and Atletico Madrid man left the club after just four games and without a win.

When asked if Villa’s presence had been a distraction, Kisnorbo said: “Maybe a little bit, he’s a big, big player, but we just have to worry about ourselves.”

City will be aiming to notch up its first win of the season against bottom of the table Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday.
