Allardyce beat Hull City’s Steve Bruce, Chelsea ace Jose Mourinho and Alan Pardew of Newcastle United to the award.

The Hammers won games against QPR, Burnley and reigning champions Manchester City during the month to be the only side with a 100% record in the English top tier over that period.

Bruce’s Hull beat Crystal Palace and drew with Champions League outfits Arsenal and Liverpool, whilst the Blues and Newcastle both won two and drew one of their three fixtures in October.

It was a clean sweep for West Ham, with star striker Diafra Sakho winning the Player of the Month gong after scoring three goals and providing one assist for the East London side.

It has been something of a breakthrough season for Allardyce at Upton Park, with many predicting the Englishman would be the first manager to be sacked before the start of the campaign.

However, some brilliant performances from his team sees the Irons currently sitting fifth in the division, with Sakho impressing alongside fellow new signing Enner Valencia and midfielder Stewart Downing.
