The Mexican international is currently on loan for the season at Real Madrid, but seems unlikely to make his move to the Bernabeu permanent after struggling to hold down a regular place in Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Real have been in terrific form this season, and Hernandez is behind some big names such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema in the attacking positions, in a similarly frustrating situation to his one at Old Trafford.

Despite making a great start to his career at United when he joined in 2010/11, ‘Chicharito’ then fell out of favour at the club as they brought in big-name signings such as Robin van Persie, and then Radamel Falcao this summer.

There is rumoured interest from Italian clubs in his signature, and it perhaps seems most likely that the 26-year-old will head to Serie A when his loan deal with Real comes to an end and he returns to Manchester.

With Louis van Gaal loaning him out this season, it seems unlikely that the new Red Devils boss has plans for Hernandez in the future.
