On the subject of a likely Bernabeu exit Ancelotti stated;

‘There are indications that Khedira is going to go, but he shows he likes Madrid and nothing is sure yet,’

The 27 year old has returned from an injury lay-off and is unlikely to figure prominently in first team matters and this has raised the chances of a move to long term suitors Arsenal.

Khedira won the Champions League in May and then played a prominent role in Germany’s World Cup triumph over the summer and is therefore clearly a quality performer and perhaps the ideal man to balance out the heaps of midfield creativity at Arsenal with some much needed defensive nous.

Wenger has been using veteran skipper Mikel Arteta in a holding role which arguably doesn’t suit him and failing that has turned to Mathieu Flamini to provide an out and out defensive midfield option, with the Frenchman some way past his best.
