Pochettino has his sights set on bringing in Southampton pair Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez though the south-coast side’s excellent start to the campaign may make such moves unsuccessful but the Argentine is nonetheless uncertain about the quality of a number of his squad and is ready to offload a number of players in January.

Aaron Lennon, Kyle Naughton and Paulinho are all set to be made available whilst Andros Townsend, Mousa Dembele, Vlad Chiriches and Roberto Soldado have a matter of a couple of months to prove their worth or face a Spurs exit.

Tottenham started the season in bright fashion but an alarming drop in form, including four defeats in six home fixtures, has left the north London club in mid-table and Pochettino is already under pressure having only taken over the club in the summer.
