The Merseyside giants signed the highly-rated Belgian international during the summer before loaning him back to current club Lille for the remainder of this season to gain more first-team experience in Ligue 1.

However, recent speculation has suggested that Brendan Rodgers may look to speed up a deal to bring Origi to Anfield, with the Reds in need of more options upfront after a difficult start to the season.

With Luis Suarez leaving for Barcelona and Daniel Sturridge spending most of the campaign out injured, Rodgers has eyed a January switch for the talented 19-year-old, who has now also added that he would love the chance to join Liverpool earlier than initially planned.

It remains to be seen how much the player’s desire to move can influence the decision, with Lille previously suggesting that they would like to keep hold of him for the rest of this season as agreed.

Still, Origi has made no secret of his desire to leave the club quickly, saying: “Maybe January, who knows? It’s not me who makes the decisions, but if the club choose to let me go in January, I would go. I would like to join Liverpool then.

“Although I agreed to stay with Lille until the end of this season, if there was that chance of joining Liverpool sooner, I would take it – I would love to move sooner rather than later.”
